-Sensation Awareness-

What is Sensation Awareness and what are its benefits?
The Sensation Awareness technique teaches how to observe sensations throughout the body, understand their cause, and develop composure by learning not to react to them. It is a mental training, just as physical exercise improves your physical health this exercise can be used to develop a healthy mind. You will also have a healthier outlook in life as you begin to face life's tensions and problems in a calm, balanced, non-judgmental manner.

Where did this technique come from?
Sensation Awareness is based Hane's experiences and studies on living in the moment and discovering ones truth by raising self-awareness. The Ascended Master Teachings, the method she used while facilitating workshops based on the "Sage Leaning Method", along with the practices she learned at the meditation intensives at the Vipassana Meditation Center .

"Vipassana is a way of self-transformation through self-observation. It focuses on the deep interconnection between mind and body, which can be experienced directly by disciplined attention to the physical sensations that form the life of the body, and that continuously interconnect and condition the life of the mind. It is this observation-based, self-exploratory journey to the common root of mind and body that dissolves mental impurity, resulting in a balanced mind full of love and compassion.

The scientific laws that operate one's thoughts, feelings, judgments and sensations become clear. Through direct experience, the nature of how one grows or regresses, how one produces suffering or frees oneself from suffering is understood. Life becomes characterized by increased awareness, non-delusion, self-control and peace."

This is a very mild version of what is taught at the intensive 10-day meditation course at Vipassana and does not substitute for the teaching.

What is the Vipassana Meditation 10 day course?
It is a free 10-day intensive meditation course where there is no: talking (except to assistant teachers), reading, writing, television, outside communication (unless there is an emergency), intoxicants (of any sort.) There are 12 hours set-aside for learning and practicing Anapana (breath meditation to quiet the mind) and then Vipassana (observation of sensations). You are given a place to sleep and are given freshly prepared vegetarian meals. Vipassana Meditation Center is a non-profit organization and will only accept donations from people who have taken a course and feel they have benefited. It is not a religion, and they do not preach that they are "the way" - this is high on my list. They have facilities throughout the world, and teach in many languages, just check out their site, www.dhamma.org.

-Personalized Meditations-

What is meditation?
Meditation is taking the time to get in touch with our inner truth by quieting the mind. Thoughts are normally based on past experiences, and future desires/fears and are seldom, if ever, about the present moment. For example, when you are thinking of doing something you are not in the present, you are in the future, just because you are thinking of it now does not mean it is happening now. Through meditation you begin to experience yourself as body, mind & soul. Meditation is about experience rather than theory, a way of being rather than a way of thinking. Prayer is asking and looking for answers outside of yourself, and meditation is listening to the answers that lie within. Rituals or any kind of worship, are not promoted. There are many forms of meditation but the ones that are taught here are guided visualizations, breath & Sensation Awareness. The appropriate meditation practice for each individual is chosen through intuition and can be used for: healing, energizing, transformation and relaxation.

What are the benefits of Meditation?
Meditation helps in many ways, some of which are noticed immediately, while others occur over time. One learns to see their "problems and difficulties" from a new, empowering, perspective. One learns first hand how to "let go" not have expectations, and what it means to "just be." Meditation not only affects the body and mind but also your behavior, and the environment. The affects on the body, lower blood pressure, reduced anxiety and stress, change in breathing, and deep rest. The affects on the mind: increased clarity, broader comprehension, and improved perception. The affects on behavior, increased productivity, improved relationships at home and work, move towards self-actualization, and increased relaxation. All these changes in our personal lives in turn positively affect our environment with results such as, decreased violence and crime, and improved quality of life.

-Transformational Breathwork-

What is Transformational Breath?
"Transformational Breath is a powerful breathing technique that creates important physical, mental, emotional and spiritual integration. As a state of the art healing and regenerative process, Transformational Breath works with a specific breathing pattern that allows you to clear past traumas, transform repressed emotions, access higher levels of awareness and deeper meditative state. As you breathe more fully and openly, you will revitalize and transform on the cellular level. Thus creating energetic openings to give you expanded states of awareness. Transformational Breath maximizes the profound physical and emotional benefits that increased oxygenation of your system can bring."

What are the benefits of Transformational Breath?
"Transformational Breath teaches how to utilize your entire respiratory system, which results in more energy, better health and increased brain function. The high energy of the improved breathing resolves past negativity stored in the subconscious. This creates a more consistent awareness of joy and well-being. Transformational Breath is considered the most effective and inclusive self-healing modality available today." Judith Kravitz, Founder, Transformational Breath Foundation
